Small factors often overlooked
Small environmental factors often overlooked:
- the lighting in your bathroom
- the usefulness of your mirror setup
- the amount of natural light in your home
One semester in college, I moved into an apartment with a bathroom that had a lighting / mirror combo SO mid it was horrid. Yet I knew that if I didn’t change anything, it would slowly dictate more and more of my self image — as I got used to it, and forgot how mid it was (I didn’t change it).
Have you noticed that you look vastly different under different lighting conditions and mirror setups?
Could you then agree that this setup is one of those small things that, over time, compounds in some way?
I could be off about this, but I feel as if little attention is paid to it.
If so, there is this lingering “factor” that is quietly shaping certain aspects of your life — whether it’s the accuracy of your self-image, the strength of your self-esteem, etc.
The smallest thing, repeated daily, over the course of a lifetime, has more leverage on the course of your life than you likely attribute credit to.
